Will Science be able to define God?

In my opinion, there is no basic controversy between Science and Religion. ( I use the word Religion in a very loose sense, as representing faith of the believers in an Ultimate Super Power that orders the Universe about in every aspect).

Both Science and Religion are in pursuit of REALITY, THAT IS THE FOUNDATION OF THE UNIVERSE THAT WE PERCEIVE THROUGH OUR SENSES OF UNDERSTANDING.

Science pursues it on the material plane only, since it functions only at the level of MATTER. Religion pursues the same idea on the spitirual level. Science will accept as true only verifiable facts, facts deciphered through the five sense organs, plus the mind and the intellect. Nothing beyond.

Religion believes that there is a spirituality behind and beyond the senses, mind and intellect, and this can be pursued and made to reveal the Reality behind the smallest of the smallest of a material particle. If HIGGS-BOSON is a particle of a particle, of which protons, nutrons and electrons are products, the question arises who is the creator of the Higgs-Boson itself. There cannot be an effect without a cause. Science indicates that all particle-physics research will end once this Higgs-Boson is established. Religion considers that this strip-tease act is incomplete, and goes on to discover the Reality behind it. The Upanishads say that the travel beyond the material particle cannot be aided by the senses-mind-intellect complex. The Kenopanishad 1-3 says NA THATHRA CHAKSHURGACHATHI NA VAAK GACHHATI NO MANO etc. meaning the eye or words nor mind can traverse that journey into the realisation of the Reality. This Reality has no form or name, nor any qualities with which it can be identified. If you try to assess what it is, it will be like the Salt Doll jumping and diving into the Ocean to measure its depth, or the thermometer jumping into the Blast Furnace to measure its inside temperature. They will not exist to tell their tale or leave any foot-print. They will become what they went to discover, i.e. the Ocean itself or the Steel melting inside the Furnace! Similarly, when you pursue the Reality behind all known matter, including the Higgs-Boson, Your journey will end with your becoming the Reality itself. You will be so full, and there will be no other, so there is no occasion to communicate.

Everything in this Universe is the Reality, one Whole, looking as numerous and different. When you go to the jewellery shop. you find hundreds of thousands of jewels, no two looking alike, but you know that each one is only GOLD but appearing to be different, Similarly, when you go to a pottery shop or a textile shop, you see variety that is endless, but they all are sourced to a basic Reality, the Earth or the Fibre they are made of.

To conclude, let me congratulate the Scientists for going one more step closer towards Reality, and hope that they will not give up and go beyond towards Reality.
